With 2020 only a handful of days away, we currently stand in a moment where we thoughtfully look back over the last year and prepare excitedly for what’s ahead of us. Straddling the two years is the perfect time to reflect on our progress and set goals for the future.
With that in mind, we wanted to share some of our successes over the last 365 days and our objectives for 2020.
Our 2019 In Review
Looking back over the last year, some of our favorite highlights include:
We closed 39 houses, meaning we helped more than 40 neighbors join great communities! Those 39 houses included 15 listings and 24 buyers.
We grew 15% over 2018, increasing our total production from $6.3 million to $7.4 million!
We renovated a home in Swissvale, making it possible for a first-time buyer to join this quiet residential neighborhood.
We bought a house of our own in Swissvale, one we’re currently remodeling before we move into it.
We launched the Homeowner’s Collective in a partnership with Lillian Denhardt to provide better service to our partners before, during, and after each sale. With Lillian by our side, we can offer a higher level of care for every individual who reaches out to our office.
We spent more time with our kids by taking more than half a dozen road trips, going camping, and visiting family.
2019 was a productive year for our entire family, but we’re not ready to slow down! We plan to continue that same momentum into 2020.
Our Goals for 2020
Looking ahead to next year, we have big goals we’d like to meet. We want to:
Finish our renovations in Swissvale and move into our new home!
Julie will continue her design classes, and we’ll keep building out our staging inventory to support more of our sellers in the future.
Sell 43 houses.
Restore another house (or two) in Pittsburgh!
Travel to Spain for our 10th anniversary.
Camp out with the kids more often.
Adopt a dog (maybe)!
Meet more great people through our work and our involvement in the community.
While we’ve accomplished much in 2019 and we’re optimistic about 2020, we’re most proud of the partnerships we’ve built that have positioned us to continue getting better at our work and that help us make Pittsburgh a great place to live. We’ve aligned ourselves for growth in the coming year, and we can’t wait to see who we meet and what we learn next.
Do you have big plans for 2020? We’ve love to hear about them! Shoot us an email at theblocks@blocksintheburgh.com or message us on Facebook or Instagram.
Cheers,
Julie & Ted
