July 1st: Friday afternoon of a long weekend, and I’m feeling inspired. I’m sitting with a cup of French pressed Mexican organic coffee at the 61C, watching the timer countdown so I can savor my first sip. As I wait, my mind drifts back to Ted & my first trip to the 61C: we were newly married, dreaming of what the next 80 years would hold for us. Never would I guess six short years later we would have three kids, have just closed on our third house, and be launching a new career in Real Estate together.
Since that day several summers ago, we’ve been back to the café for many occasions: fresh fruit smoothies and lemonades on long summer walks with our daughters, and cookies with cups of hot cocoa on cold winter days when we needed an excuse to pop in somewhere warm on our way from our final shopping stop to our car parked a couple blocks away. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, ready with the perfect suggestion to fit your mood.
It seems I’m not the only one inspired here: I count no less than six MacBook’s (including my own) in the café, while others read or catch up with friends. Whether you’re looking for a refreshing drink on the go, or a cozy cup of coffee and good seat to people watch along Murray Ave, 61C is the perfect place to inspire you along the way.
