One of Pittsburgh’s smaller suburbs with only 0.6 square miles to its name, Edgewood is a quiet residential community. Originally incorporated in 1888, the borough has multiple historical landmarks, including:

• The Edgewood Borough Building

As a largely residential area, Edgewood is insulated from the hustle and bustle of busy city streets lined with shops and restaurants. Instead, most of its restaurants and shopping is located in southwestern corner of Edgewood in the Edgewood Towne Center. 

Edgewood is bordered by Wilkinsburg to the north, Forest Hills to the east, Swissvale to the south, and Regent Square to the west.

Edgewood Easter Egg Hunt

About the event: An opportunity for Edgewood children ages 2-10 to run around collecting as many Easter eggs as possible.

Edgewood Movie Nights

Date: Wednesdays in June and July

About the event: Trivia and games are followed by family-friendly movies at sunset.

Light Up Edgewood

About the event: After Santa lights the borough tree, everyone gathers in the Edgewood Club for warm drinks, cookies, a Christmas movie, and an opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap. 

Koenig Field

Easiest Access: Take Pennwood Avenue to Washington Street. Follow Washington Stree to Vine Street. Turn on Race Street to access the entrance of Koenig Field.

Address: Eastern end of Oakview Avenue.
Easiest Access: Travel north on Edgewood Avenue, then turn onto Oakview Avenue. Follow Oakview Avenue to the park.

Easiest Access: Travel north on Edgewood Avenue until it turns into East Swissvale Avenue. The park is at the intersection of Race Street and East Swissvale Avenue.

• Turn left onto South Braddock Avenue.

• Turn right on Monongahela Avenue. 

• Turn right to merge onto 376 East. 

Route 8

• Travel north on Edgewood Avenue. 

• Continue as Edgewood Avenue becomes East Swissvale Avenue. 

• Follow East Swissvale Avenue to Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg. 

• Turn left or right onto Penn Avenue to get onto Route 8.
